Global leader in online vehicle remarketing and recycling, Copart UK, is delighted to announce that they are now officially an accredited Living Wage Employer.

By voluntarily paying the Living Wage, Copart is joining forces with thousands of organisations and businesses across the UK who understand the importance of paying their employees a fair and appropriate wage.

Copart’s Living Wage Employer accreditation joins a set of social responsibilities which the company supports and encourages their partners, stakeholders, and suppliers to align with.

This includes complying with the Modern Slavery Act 2015, providing an anonymous whistle-blower service, holding regular ‘one-to-ones’ and performance reviews to encourage two-way communication, and embedding equal opportunity awareness into all of Copart’s policies, procedures, and training.

Leanne Carroll, HR Director of Copart UK, said:

“As part of our ongoing Copart Cares CSR commitment, we are passionate about always acting responsibly when it comes to the wellbeing of our teammates and paying the Living Wage is just one way that we can make a positive impact.

“Not only is it the right thing to do, but it will also help us to attract and retain great people. Of course, we want to be seen as an Employer of Choice, but much more than that we want our teammates to know that we care about them, and this is just one tangible way for us to demonstrate that.”

In addition to always acting in the right and most responsible way, Copart is committed to providing teammates with a wide range of ways to connect and engage, and access financial, physical, and emotional support tools.

Earlier this year, the company launched ‘Copart Rewards’, their new internal communications and benefits platform which gives teammates access to discounts from a wide range of retailers, health and wellbeing support via a Wellbeing Hub, and interactive communication and engagement features.

Jane Pocock, CEO of Copart UK & Ireland, said:

“Putting our teammates first is one of the most important elements of our Copart Cares CSR strategy, so we’re delighted to achieve our Living Wage Employer accreditation and demonstrate our commitment to always acting in the right and most responsible way.

“We know that it’s the dedication and hard work of our people that makes us the success we are today, so we are committed to providing a comprehensive range of benefits and recognition tools, alongside a fair and supportive working environment, so our teammates feel valued and protected.”

Katherine Chapman, Director, Living Wage Foundation added:

“We’re delighted that Copart has joined the movement of almost 9,000 responsible employers across the UK who voluntarily commit to go further than the government minimum wage.

“They join thousands of businesses, as well as household names such as Burberry, Barclays, Everton Football Club and many more. These businesses recognise that paying the real Living Wage is the mark of a responsible employer and they, like Copart, believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay."
