VIC Closure

At long last we have come to the day of the VIC schemes demise, and not a moment to soon in the opinion of the BVSF. Two documents have been provided by the Department of Transport to assist the public in the future, sadly, however, both are misleading and factually incorrect in their description of both a Cat C and Cat D vehicles.

1)  For sake of clarity a Cat C vehicle is which in the eyes of the Insurance industry the retail repair cost exceeds the retail market value of the vehicle.
Car Value £2000, retail repair cost £2300...

2)  And to confirm that a Cat D vehicle is indeed a constructive total loss whereby in the eyes of the insurance industry the retail repair costs fall BELOW the retail value of the vehicle.
Car value £2000, retail repair cost £1750.
