VIC scheme consultation.

This is, hopefully, and at last the beginning of another major success story for the BVSF. After nearly two years of hard work and what seems to be almost constant letter writing, telephone calls and meeting attendance the long awaited “consultation into the viability of the VIC scheme” has at last been announced. We are still a long way from abolition or considerable change but at least the door is now open for comment. The BVSF has been asked to assist many members over the last two years in relation to VIC delays and with one exception, (Derby) and even then only very recently, has been successful in all cases.

It is now more important than ever for members to advise on unacceptable delays as this will form part of the BVSF comment in the public consultation. Should any member wish to view the consultation document it is available on www.dft.gov.uk/consultations/dft-2012-33.

The consultation runs for the obligatory 3 months before a decision is made.

All members will of course be kept informed once a decision is announced.
